Photo Series: The Battle for Plaza Italia

SANTIAGO – In the center of Santiago on Friday afternoon, hundreds of police forces put the Plaza Italia on lockdown. The new Metropolitan Intendent Felipe Guevara Stephens rejected permission for new marches, but large groups of protesters decided nevertheless to move to what they call Plaza Dignidad. Several protesters and policemen were injured in the battle that follow: Chile Today’s Nelson Quiroz was present and took the following photo’s.
